Prunelli-di-Fiumorbo ( Corsican : I Pruneddi di Fiumorbu ) is a French commune with 3,660 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Corse department on the island of Corsica . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Corte and the canton of Fiumorbo-Castello , of which it is the main town ( chef-lieu ). The inhabitants call themselves Prunellais (Corsican: Pruniddacci ).
geography
Located within the Fiumorbo landscape , the municipality is bounded to the north by the eponymous river Fium Orbu . To the east lies the Tyrrhenian Sea . Prunelli-di-Fiumorbo is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Poggio-di-Nazza in the north and northwest, Ghisonaccia in the northeast, Serra-di-Fiumorbo in the south and Isolaccio-di-Fiumorbo in the west.
In addition to the core town, the municipality also includes the towns of Migliacciaro , Morta , Abbazia , Agnatello and Casamozza . The national route 198 runs through the municipality .
