Nocario , in Corsican Nucariu , is a municipality in Castagniccia on the French Mediterranean island of Corsica . The residents call themselves Nocariais or Nucarinchi .

Geography, infrastructure

The national route 845 ends in Nocario . The settlement area is about 600 meters above sea level and consists of the villages of Nocario, Erbaggio, Celle and Pietricaggio. Neighboring municipalities are Croce in the north-west and north, Polveroso in the north and north-east, Verdèse in the east, Piedicroce in the south-east and south, Campana in the south, San-Lorenzo in the south-west and Saliceto in the west and north-west. The highest point in the municipality is the 1767 m high Monte San Petrone.
