Santa-Maria-Poggio , in Corsican Santa Maria Poghju, is a municipality on the French island of Corsica . It belongs to the Corsica region , the Haute-Corse department , the Corte arrondissement and the Castagniccia canton .
geography
Santa-Maria-Poggio is located in Castagniccia and borders the Tyrrhenian Sea to the east . The neighboring municipalities are San-Nicolao in the north, San-Giovanni-di-Moriani in the north-west, Santa-Reparata-di-Moriani in the west, Valle-d'Alesani in the south-west and Valle-di-Campoloro . The village center is approximately 300 meters above sea level.
