Cervione is a municipality in the northeast of the French island of Corsica . It belongs to the Arrondissement Corte in the Haute-Corse department . The residents call themselves Cervionais .

Cervione is in Castagniccia . The municipality borders the Tyrrhenian Sea to the east . Neighboring communities are Valle-di-Campoloro in the north, San-Giuliano in the south, Sant'Andréa-di-Cotone in the south-west, Valle-d'Alesani in the west and Felce in the north-west. The local center is at 380 meters above sea level.

history

In the late Middle Ages , the regional bishopric was moved from Aléria to Cervione. The former bishop's palace became the seat of the King of Corsica when the Westphalian Baron Theodor von Neuhoff was elected King Theodor I on April 15, 1736.
