Focicchia |
Focicchia , in Corsican "Fucichja", is a municipality on the French island of Corsica . It belongs to the Corsica region , the Haute-Corse department , the Corte arrondissement and the Bustanico canton . The inhabitants call themselves Focicchiens or Fucichjani .
geography
Focicchia lies at 654 meters above sea level in the Corsican mountains. Neighboring municipalities are Sant'Andréa-di-Bozio in the north, Zuani and Ampriani in the northeast, Pietraserena in the east, Piedicorte-di-Gaggio in the southeast, Altiani in the south and Erbajolo in the west. Local elevations are called Punta-di-Mangaio (1036 m), Punta Alta (1055 m), Punta Cigno (1003 m), Punta Caracuto (1036 m) and Punta Cervio (1189 m). The latter is the highest point in the municipality mark.
