The fountain of the Three Graces was made of cast iron in 1867 by the art foundry Jean-Jacques Ducel . The motif of the three graces represents “marital fidelity in ancient Rome”. The fountain was designed after a work by the sculptor Germain Pilon (1535–1590), which has been in the Louvre since 1817 .
The Église de l'Annonciation (' Church of the Annunciation ') had the status of a pieve in 1589 . At that time it was still a Romanesque style building , today it is a classicist building, even if the facade still shows some baroque elements.
economy
The copper mining in Vezzani was partly on the territory of the neighboring communities of Noceta , Pietroso and Rospigliani . In 1795 an engineer found an arsenopyrite vein in Vezzani. It was not until 1857 that the first permission to examine the site was given. In 1891 another permit for excavations was granted, and the work was carried out in 1892. In 1895, the explorers sold their rights to a bank in Bastia . In 1897 the mining company mines de Tama-Vezzani was founded. The mining rights covered an area of 1842 hectares. In 1898 over 300 tons of arsenopyrite were mined and shipped to England . With the outbreak of the First World War (1914-1918), the dismantling was stopped. In 1925, work resumed for about a year, after which the mine was abandoned. A total of 5500 tons of ore were mined, 4000 tons were exported to England. The concession was canceled in 1965.
An important line of business in Vezzani is forestry , the sale of pine seeds and wood.
