The Tavignano is a river in France that runs in the Haute-Corse department on the island of Corsica . It rises in the Corsica Regional Nature Park , on the south-eastern flank of Capu au Tozzu (2007 m), on the municipal boundary of Corte , Casamaccioli and Letia and thus also on the border with the neighboring Corse-du-Sud department . The river initially flows through Lac de Nino and drains in its upper reaches in a north-easterly direction, but later turns to the south-east and flows into the Tyrrhenian Sea after 89 kilometers just below Aléria . Below Corte , the Tavignano valley is used by the national road 200 .
