Calacuccia is a French commune with 280 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Corse department on the island of Corsica . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Corte and the canton of Golo-Morosaglia .
geography
The place is about 30 kilometers (as the crow flies) northeast of Porto and twelve kilometers west of Corte in the Corsica Regional Nature Park . The neighboring communities are Lozzi and Corscia in the north, the latter also in the east, Corte in the east and in the south-east, Casamaccioli in the south and in the south-west, Albertacce in the west and in the north-west.
The municipality is drained from the Golo River to the northeast. Just south of the municipal capital of the scattered settlement lies the Lac de Calacuccia reservoir at an altitude of 793 meters .
Transport links
Calacuccia is traffic-from the department road supplied D84, the south-west direction via the pass de Col Vergio leads to Porto. In the opposite direction at the place will Francardo the national road N193 reached, a high-level further connection until after Bastia or Ajaccio possible. A railway line runs parallel to this.
