Gavignano is a French commune with 53 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Corse department on the island of Corsica . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Corte and the canton of Golo-Morosaglia . The residents call themselves Gavignanais or Gavignaninchi .

geography

The municipality is located in the Castagniccia landscape and has a west-east extension of around ten kilometers, while in the north-south direction it measures only about 500 meters at the narrowest point. The neighboring municipalities are Castineta in the north, Croce in the east, Saliceto in the south and Piedigriggio in the west.

The municipality capital is called Olmi , another hamlet is Poggio . The municipality is drained by the Casaluna river and its side streams in a north-westerly direction towards the Golo .
