The Municipio San Pedro (formerly also: San Pablo ) is a district in the Pando department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of San Pedro is one of three municipalities in the Manuripi province and includes its eastern area. It is bordered to the west by the municipality of Puerto Rico , to the south and southeast by the municipality of San Lorenzo and the municipality of Puerto Gonzales Moreno of the province of Madre de Dios , to the east by the department of Beni , and to the north by the municipality of Villa Nueva of the province of Federico Román and to the municipality of Ingavi in the province of Abuná .
The municipality extends between about 10 ° 48 'and 11 ° 20' south latitude and 66 ° 02 'and 67 ° 00' west longitude, its expansion from west to east is up to 100 kilometers and from north to south up to 40 kilometers .
The municipality comprises 38 municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the town of San Pedro on the northern edge of the district with 196 inhabitants. Most populous place in the municipality is Valparaiso with 238 inhabitants across from Riberalta on the other side of the Río Madre de Dios . ( 2012 census )

The municipality of San Pedro is located in the Bolivian part of the Amazon basin in the tropical rainy climate of the equatorial zone.
The mean average temperature of the region is 26 ° C and fluctuates only insignificantly in the course of the year as well as in the course of the day; in the dry winter months from June to August alone, it is slightly lower due to the nocturnal heat radiation with open cloud cover (see climate diagram Riberalta). Annual precipitation is around 1,300 mm and during the rainy season has monthly values between 100 and 230 mm for more than half of the year, only in the dry season from June to August does precipitation drop to monthly values below 20 mm.

The life expectancy of newborns in 2001 was 54.8 years, and infant mortality had worsened from 5.7 percent ( 1992 ) to 10.1 percent in 2001.
99.9 percent of the population speak Spanish , 1.1 percent speak Guarani , 0.1 percent speak Quechua, and 0.1 percent speak Aymara . ( 2001 )
