The Municipio Ingavi is a district in the Pando Department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The municipality Ingavi is one of two municipalities in the province of Abuná and includes its eastern area. It borders the Republic of Brazil to the north, the Municipio Santa Rosa del Abuná to the west, the Municipio San Pedro in the province of Manuripi to the south, the Municipio Villa Nueva to the southeast and the Municipio Santos Mercado to the northeast .

The municipality extends between approximately 9 ° 54 'and 11 ° 00' south latitude and 66 ° 26 'and 67 ° 01' west longitude, its extent from west to east is up to 65 kilometers and from north to south up to 80 kilometers .

The municipality comprises 13 municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the village of Ingavi with 386 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) on the Río Orthon on the southern edge of the district.

The municipality of Ingavi is located in the Bolivian part of the Amazon basin in the northern part of the country on the border with Brazil.

The mean average temperature of the region is 26 ° C and fluctuates only slightly between 25 ° C in May and 27 to 28 ° C from December to February (see Riberalta climate diagram). The annual precipitation is about 1,300 mm, with a pronounced dry season from June to August with monthly precipitation below 20 mm, and a humidity period from December to January with monthly precipitation of more than 200 mm.
