Konr @ d (proper spelling: KONR @ D ) was a German lifestyle - magazine that between August 1997 and December 1999, with the subtitle "Man in the digital world" in the publishing house Gruner + Jahr appeared and become "Special of Star understand" . When it was discontinued, golem.de described the magazine as “the most renowned German magazine for internet culture and lifestyle”.

history

In the mid-1990s, the Hamburg publishing house Gruner + Jahr intended to participate in the planned German edition of the US technology magazine Wired ; in October 1996, however, negotiations with Condé Nast Verlag failed . The Hamburg publisher therefore decided to establish a corresponding magazine on the German market. In addition, Peter Glaser could be won over as head of the editorial team. At the end of August 1997, after seven months of development, the first Konr @ d issue appeared with a circulation of 120,000, and the magazine named after Konrad Zuse appeared at irregular intervals about every two months. The magazine dealt with computers, lifestyle and the future. The quality of the content fluctuating as well as the introduction of better marketed magazines with a similar spectrum as Tomorrow led to the discontinuation of Konr @ d after the 13th edition, which appeared on December 16, 1999. From now on, the subject areas of the magazine were to be integrated into the “Internet and Computers” section of Stern.

Originally planned was a circulation of around 60,000, as Erwin Jurtschitsch stated in mid-1996. According to the publisher, Konr @ d has sold up to 220,000 times, with the last editions the sold circulation is said to have been 115,000. The price of the magazine ranged from 4.80 DM (“introductory price ” of the first issue) to 5.80 DM (twelfth issue).
