Erwin Yurtschitsch

Erwin Jurtschitsch (* 1954 ) is a German journalist and entrepreneur .

Life

Jurtschitsch studied engineering . In 1978 he was co-founder and editor of the daily newspaper (taz) and soon after was a member of its board. In the 1980s he worked for the parliamentary group of the Green Alternative List (GAL) in the Hamburg parliament and the rainbow parliamentary group in the European Parliament , then as an editor at Spiegel TV . In 1990 he moved to a development department at Axel Springer Verlag and became the managing editor of the Berlin daily Der Morgen .

In the same year, together with Jan von Flocken and Michael Klonovsky from the "Freedom of the Press" foundation, he was awarded the Guardian Prize of the German daily press for courageous reports on the "detection and treatment of human rights violations by the GDR judiciary". From 1991 he headed the science department of the news magazine Focus in Munich . In 1997 he went to Hamburg as editor-in-chief for the computer magazine Konr @ d , in 1998 he became editor-in-chief of Stern Online and at the same time head of science, medicine and computers for the Stern magazine .

In 1999 he switched to the investment industry , becoming Managing Director Germany of the Swiss ETF Group , a venture capital firm for investments in information technology and in the Neuer Markt . In 2000 he founded EJ Ventures AG , a venture capital company in Hamburg, which is involved in the media , nano , environmental and medical technology and became its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). At the same time, the investment company Nanoventure NV was established , where he was also CEO.

Since 2001 Jurtschitsch has been part of the Degler Smart Media network , a Hamburg media consulting company. Together with Hans-Dieter Degler , he is the managing director of Unseen Media GmbH, which operates an internet-based platform for artistic photography, graphics and architecture that presents around 15,000 works.

Jurtschitsch is Deputy Chairman of the LeadAcademy for Media Design and Media Marketing eV , which awards the LeadAward once a year for the best print and online media in Germany. Together with Dieter Degler he is the managing director of www.seen.by , an internet gallery for photography. He has been a member of the Hamburg Initiative for Human Rights (HIM) since 2015 . He is also CEO of the management consultancy Consigliere .

Together with Ulli Kulke , he wrote several guest articles for the Axis of the Good .
