Konrad Adolf von Malsen

Konrad Adolf Freiherr von Malsen, Baron von Tilborch (* 1792 , † 1867 in Konstanz ) was a Bavarian diplomat.

Life

As the son of the Prussian Colonel Johann Konrad Freiherr von Malsen, Konrad Adolf von Malsen graduated from high school in Bayreuth. He studied law at the University of Erlangen . In 1809 he became a member of the Baruthia Corps . In 1810 he was one of the founders of the Corps Franconia II Erlangen . Around 1817/1818 he entered the diplomatic service of the Kingdom of Bavaria . He became legation secretary at the Württembergischer Hof in Stuttgart and at the Sardischer Hof in Turin. In 1827 he became Minister Resident of the Swiss Confederation in Zurich and, in 1829, Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to the Holy See in Rome. In 1831 he was given temporary retirement and subsequently lived in Trieb in the small castle. His daughter Karoline Fideline, who later became the wife of the writer Joseph Victor von Scheffel , was born there in 1833 . In 1838 he returned to the diplomatic service and became envoy extraordinary and plenipotentiary minister to the Swiss Confederation in Zurich. In 1841 he became envoy to the Württemberg court in Stuttgart. In 1849 he moved to the Prussian court in Berlin as Bavarian envoy . From 1854 until the year of his death was envoy at the Badischer Hof in Karlsruhe.
