Konrad Ellegast

Konrad Ellegast (born April 15, 1940 in Konstanz ) is a German manager . He was CEO of Phoenix AG in Hamburg-Harburg from 1994 to 2003.

Life

Ellegast, coming from a well-known Konstanz family, studied economics at the University of Cologne . In 1964 he graduated with a degree in business administration.

In 1983 he became a board member of Phoenix AG and was its chairman from 1994 to 2003. He played a key role in the expansion and internationalization of the company. Under the leadership of Ellegast, sales more than doubled from 1993 to 1.13 billion in 2002. The number of employees rose from approx. 7,000 in 1994 to approx. 10,000 in 2002. In 2003 he moved to Cerberus Capital Management as a senior advisor with a focus on the automotive industry and is a member of the Advisory Board.

He is a member of the supervisory board of Basler Vision Technologies , technotrans AG , Sassenberg, as well as a member of the advisory board of C. Mackprang Jr. GmbH & Co. KG , Hamburg, and RIBE Richard Bergnerverbindungen GmbH, Schwabach, as well as Deutsche Bank AG and Dresdner Bank AG .

Ellegast lives in old, renovated by him farms in Oetjendorf , Mallorca and Thuringia .

Konrad Ellegast has been a member of the Catholic student associations KDStV Rhineland Cologne in the CV since 1960 . He is involved in numerous social projects, e.g. In 2001 he was CEO of Phoenix AG for a week at the homeless magazine "Hinz & Kunzt"; he is a member of the advisory board of the Hamburg street newspaper .

Konrad Ellegast was a member of the board of trustees of the German Wildlife Foundation .
