Konrad Volm
Konrad Volm (born August 22, 1897 in Owingen , † April 27, 1958 in Geilenkirchen ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ).
Live and act
After attending primary school in Owingen (1903–1911) and vocational school (1911–1914), Volm learned the building trade for three years. His training was interrupted by his participation in the First World War , in which he was deployed as a pioneer in Pioneer Battalion 14 on the Western Front from December 1916 until the end of the war . During the war he was awarded the Iron Cross II. Class and the Hohenzoller Medal of Merit. He then worked from December 1918 to 1931 as a mason foreman in the construction industry.
In 1927 he joined the NSDAP. From 1930 to 1931 he was the local group leader in Übach. In the SA he became SA leader. From 1931 to February 5, 1933 he held the office of honorary district leader of the Geilenkirchen district. Subsequently, from April 15, 1933 to April 1, 1944, Volm was a full-time district leader of Geilenkirchen. From July 1941 to January 1942, he also took over his office on a provisional basis , representing the district leader of the Aachen-Land district who was called up to serve in the Wehrmacht . On April 1, 1944, he lost his posts as district leader and his rank as senior division manager because of embezzlement of party funds. From January 1942 to March 1943 he was finally assigned to the Reich Ministry for the Occupied Eastern Territories. He then took over the office of mayor of Frechen from March 28, 1943 to March 3, 1945 . Shortly before the end of the war, he was called up for military service as a construction pioneer on April 13, 1945. On October 4, 1935, Volm moved into the Reichstag as a member of constituency 20 (Cologne-Aachen) , to which he was a member until the resignation on May 22, 1943, in the replacement procedure for the resigned MP Fred Henrich .
From June 12, 1945 to February 5, 1948, Volm was interned in the Staumühle internment camp. On January 20, 1948, he was sentenced to a prison term of 1 year and 9 months by the Detmold - Hiddesen judicial chamber . This sentence was considered to have been served due to the internment. On April 27th, Volm was finally sentenced by the Aachen Regional Court to another 15 months in prison for crimes against humanity . After his release he lived in Übach-Palenberg .
