Konstantin Dawidowitsch Suchiaschwili ( Russian Константин Давидович Сухиашвили ; * 1902 in the Georgian village of Sazabel ( Russian Сацабель ); † 1955 in Moscow ) was a Soviet rear admiral . From April 1940 to September 1941 and from August 1942 to June 1944 he commanded the Caspian Red Banner Officers College of the Naval Forces SM Kirov of the Soviet naval fleet in Baku .

Life

Suchiaschwili in 1902 in the small, between Tbilisi and Sukhumi located, Georgian village Sazabel (Russian Каштановка / Kaschtanowka) was born as the oldest of six siblings. In the house of father Dawid Spiridonowitsch, a teacher trained at the philological faculty of Kiev University, and mother Anneta Antonova, intellectual, tsarist oppositionists from neighboring villages often met . Suchiashvili graduated from the Frunze Naval Officer School after attending elementary school and high school in Kutaisi . He then served on the cruiser Krasny Kawkas .

During the Great Patriotic War he commanded the 75th Marine Brigade from November 1941, which was used in the Battle of Moscow . In their ranks there were 100 young lieutenants from the first year of the Caspian Naval War School. On March 18, 1942, the 75th Marine Brigade was merged into the 3rd Guards Brigade, which was also commanded by Captain Sukhiashvili.

After the war, he was appointed rear admiral, commander of the major naval bases in Porkkala and Odessa . In 1952 he was a delegate at the 19th party congress of the CPSU .

Sukhiashvili died in 1955 and was buried in the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow.
