Konstantin Decker

Konstantin Decker (born December 20 or October 29, 1810 in Fürstenau, today a district of the municipality Boitzenburger Land in the district of Uckermark ; † January 28, 1878 in Stolp (Polish Słupsk )) was a German pianist, composer and music teacher.

He studied in Berlin with Siegfried Dehn , after which he moved to Saint Petersburg . His students there included u. a. Ingeborg Starck .

Konstantin Decker was also a composer; his opera "Isolde" was premiered in Königsberg in 1850 , then in St. Petersburg in 1852.

He also created numerous songs to texts by Ludwig Uhland , Johann Wolfgang von Goethe , Gottfried August Bürger and Heinrich Heine .

From 1859 he lived in Stolp. In the Stolper address book for 1864, Bergstrasse 49 is given as his place of residence and "composer" as his profession.
