Konstantin Josef von Gatterburg

Konstantin Josef Graf von Gatterburg (born March 11, 1678 , † November 30, 1734 in Vienna ) was an Austrian nobleman, royal cupbearer and real court chamber councilor.

Konstantin Josef Freiherr von Gatterburg (also Constantin Joseph) was the son of Maximilian Ernst von Gattermayr, since 1653 a knight of Gatterburg. In 1702 he inherited the rule of Zwölfaxing from his father Maximilian, in 1709 Konstantin acquired the castle and the rule of Retz and redesigned the castle in Baroque style. He was also the master of Althof (Retz) and Pellendorf . On December 4, 1717, the Baron von Retz was raised to the rank of count by Emperor Karl VI . In 1720 he bought the Hösting estate with Gut Boskowstein in Moravia, which after his death in 1734 fell to his son Karl Friedrich. Constantine was married to Maria Theresia Benigna Freiin von Löwenstock, with whom he had six sons and three daughters. Like his father, he was buried in the Franciscan Church in Vienna.
