Konstantin Merz

Konstantin Merz (born April 7, 1856 in Vöhrenbach , † September 10, 1915 in Furtwangen ) was a general practitioner and member of the Reichstag of the German Empire .

Life

Merz studied medicine in Freiburg , Würzburg and Berlin . From 1885 he worked as a general practitioner in Furtwangen, where he was also made an honorary citizen .

On February 11, 1897, as a candidate for the National Liberal Party, he won a replacement election in the Reichstag constituency of Baden 2 ( Donaueschingen , Villingen ). Merz won the election by just eleven votes, so the election was contested and declared invalid by the Reichstag on May 2, 1898.
