Constanze Gerhard

Konstanze (Konny) Gerhard (born May 7, 1961 in Frankfurt am Main ) is an activist of the German lesbian movement .

Life

From 1990 to 2001 she worked as a freelance lesbian education consultant. Her main topics included the situation of lesbians in the working world . She was a co-initiator of seminars and working groups within the DGB and the ÖTV . She was instrumental in founding the group of lesbian teachers in the GEW . She is the wife of the lesbian ring . Between 2012 and 2015 Konstanze Gerhard was spokeswoman for the LSVD regional association Schleswig-Holstein, from August 3, 2013 to July 19, 2014 she was a member of the board of the BLSJ, the Association of Lesbian and Gay Journalists .

Other topics that Konstanze Gerhard has dealt intensively with include coming out and lesbian mothers , both of which are part of the Evangelical Church . In addition, she was a lecturer at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences with the topic "In every class - lesbian and gay students - an awareness project in Frankfurt schools" . She is known nationwide as the operator of the largest German lesbian internet portal Konnys Lesbenseiten , which started in 1997 and ran until 2018. The non-commercial page contained links to all areas of lesbian life as well as an extensive, relevant list of books and media.

Gerhard works full-time as a freelance IT specialist; she also studied public relations and corporate communication at the Kiel University of Applied Sciences until March 2016 (Bachelor of Arts degree). From 1999 to 2012 she advised the Hessian state government through the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs as an external advisor on questions of lesbian and gay politics; her main areas of work were work, youth, family, migration and the church.

Konstanze Gerhard lived and worked in Frankfurt am Main until 2012, and in Kiel since 2012 .
