Kores is an office supplies manufacturer whose origins lie in Austria , but which has now been active worldwide for decades. The name of the company (company) is derived from the name of the owner family Koreska . The fourth generation of the family now owns the group. Kores products are known under different names, such as Radex or TIXO . The original brand was the Kores company itself, under which the company was best known for carbon paper .

history

Kores was founded by Wilhelm Koreska in Vienna in 1887 as a manufacturer of carbon paper. In 1901 the first plant was built in Hernalser Wattgasse . In 1912 Koreska began with the production of ribbons for typewriters . After the First World War , his two sons Wilhelm junior and Robert began to internationalize the company. With the beginning of the Second World War, there were plants in Vienna and Berlin as well as one in Sofia (Bulgaria), Shanghai and one in Cairo . During the war, a plant was also set up in Barcelona , Spain. Even after the war, expansion outside the Austrian borders continued. A plant was built in Mexico in 1949 .

In 1951 the Radex brand was registered. The TIXO adhesive tape was developed in Vienna and produced in its own factory in Vienna- Liesing until 1985, when the brand was sold to the Beiersdorf company and the factory in Liesing was closed. In 1971 Robert and Peter Koreska founded Kores Holding Zug AG in Switzerland . In 1987 Kores Central Europe was founded.

From 1990 glue sticks were produced in Barcelona and from 1992 liquid glue. Kores products are sold in over 70 countries.
