Korona is a parish village and officially named part of the municipality in the independent city of Passau .

Korona has lost its quality as an independent part of the municipality, since it has grown together with the parts of the municipality Dietzing and Patriching . From the census of 1987 , therefore, have no own data for the location, since they are included in the data from Patriching.

location

Korona is located about five kilometers northwest of the old town of Passau between the rivers Ilz and Danube, which are about 100 meters below, and 500 meters east of the federal highway 85 .

history

The place belonged to the former community Hacklberg , which was incorporated into Passau on July 1, 1972. The last separate determination of the number of inhabitants took place in 1970 and amounted to 168. In 1961 there were still 50 inhabitants in twelve residential buildings.

Architectural monuments

The listed Catholic pilgrimage church of St. Korona is located at Mesnerweg 10. The central building on a Greek cross was built around 1635/40 and has gable roofs with ridge turrets .
