Kosta Karamatskos actually Konstantin Karamatskos (born January 14, 1986 in Stuttgart ) is a German basketball player .

Career

The 1.98 m tall shooting guard , who also has Greek nationality, began playing basketball at SpVgg Feuerbach. Then he first played at ENBW Ludwigsburg, where he also got his first professional contract. With a double license for the first division team and the regional league team, he was only able to convince in the regional league in his early years. Stations then were at the USC Freiburg and the Kirchheim Knights , before he moved to the basketball league at TBB Trier for the 2007/08 season. There he had a contract until the end of the 2010/11 season. This was not extended by the TBB Trier and Karamatskos switched back to the 2nd Bundesliga Pro A and signed a contract with the Saar-Palatinate Braves .

After the financial end of the Braves, Karamatskos first switched to the Kirchheim Knights . There his contract was terminated prematurely and Kosta Karamatskos moved to the Crailsheim Merlins in January within the league . After the 2013/14 season, his contract was not renewed. In mid-September it was announced that Karamatskos had signed a contract with the SC Itzehoe Eagles from the 2nd Bundesliga ProB for the 2014/2015 season . He stayed with the Itzehoer Verein in the following years and completed an apprenticeship as a sports and fitness clerk in the city.

In the summer of 2017 he moved from Itzehoe to the Schwenninger Panthers in the first regional league. With the Black Forests he became champions and rose in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB, whereupon Karamatskos extended his contract by one year. He reached the ProB semifinals with Schwenningen as a promoted team and won as a successor in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA. Karamatskos was the first player who was equipped with a new contract for the ProA after the rise from the Schwenninger.
