Kottendorf is a settlement belonging to the Tannroda district of the city of Bad Berka in the Weimarer Land district , Thuringia .

geography

The hamlet of Kottendorf is located 7.6 km west of Bad Berka and 3.5 km south of Tannroda. The mean altitude is given as 442 m above sea level. The district extends over a hilly , north-sloping plateau with soils remote from the groundwater on shell limestone weathering . The road conditions are appropriate. In Tannroda the Schwarza flows into the Ilm at 285 m above sea level. From there the terrain rises by 157 m to Kottendorf.

history

The hamlet was first mentioned in documents in 1450, other authors assume it is from 1350. Kottendorf belonged to the Tannroda manor , but fell into desolation in the late Middle Ages and then became the outbuilding of the property with a housing estate for day laborers. In 1855 26 people lived in the hamlet, in 1910 38 and 1973 56 people and in 2011 40 people.

The parish of Kottendorf- Treppendorf and Tannroda also included the hamlet.
