Krašić is a small village on the southern slope of the Žumberačka gora in central Croatia, west of Jastrebarsko .
history
The Gothic parish church of St. Trinity , already mentioned in a document in 1334, was changed to baroque style around 1759. The bell tower dates from 1771.
In the Holy of Holies there is a baroque altar from 1743. The church inventory includes a valuable Golgotha relief in Rococo style . From 1911 to 1913 the church was expanded according to a design by the architect Stjepan Podhorsky (1875–1945).
The Croatian cardinal and archbishop of Zagreb , Alojzije Stepinac , who was sentenced to 16 years imprisonment by the communist regime of Yugoslavia after the Second World War, lived and worked in Krašić . From 1951 the popular cardinal spent the last years of his life in Krašić. On November 29, 1952 he was made cardinal. That is why Catholics in particular come every year to visit the rectory, in which the cardinal lived under house arrest for nine long years until February 10, 1960 .
An urn field from the Hallstatt culture was found at the Krupa # x107; e landmark near Krašić .
