Križ (Croatian for cross ) is a village in the Zagreb County in Croatia .

Križ lies in the Česma river valley, seven kilometers southeast of Ivanić-Grad at 105 m above sea level. M.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1334 when it was listed as a parish of the Diocese of Zagreb .

Under this name, Kreuz belonged to Slavonia and was Habsburg-Austrian until 1918. Around 1910 a higher education institution for agriculture and forestry existed here .

Today, Križ covers an area of 118 square kilometers and, together with 15 villages, has 6,963 inhabitants (2011 census). 1,821 inhabitants live in Križ itself.
