traffic
The bus station of the city of Samobor ( Autobusni kolodvor Samobor ), which used to be a few hundred meters north of the centrally located Trg Kralja Tomislava ( King Tomislav Square ), was replaced in 2012 by a new, oversized bus station on the northern outskirts, about one kilometer from the city center. From there there are numerous regional bus connections to Zagreb as well as to surrounding cities and municipalities, but also national long-distance connections (in particular to and from Rijeka and Dalmatia ).
The A3 motorway , which connects Zagreb with Ljubljana, runs north of the city center . The exit closest to the city center is in Sveta Nedelja , another in the Bobovica municipality, which is part of Samobor .
Samobor does not have its own railway connection. The closest long-distance train station, Zagreb Central Station, is around 20 km away, while the closest train stations in Brdovec and Zaprešić are only served by Croatian Railways regional services.
From 1901 to 1979 a narrow-gauge railway (Bosnian gauge, 760 mm) operated between Zagreb and Samobor. Most of the route has been preserved. There are efforts to rebuild this railway.
The Zagreb airport is 30 km away.
