The Krabbenhöft and lamp Building ( english Krabbenhöft & Lampe Building ) is a historic residential and commercial building in Lüderitz in the region ǁKaras Region in Namibia . It has been a National Monument since December 20, 1979 .
The building, erected in 1909, is part of an ensemble of historic German colonial buildings. It was built in the palace-like style of the neo-renaissance by Friedrich Kramer . The five skylights, which were originally intended for the expansion of the roof as the third floor, are striking. The architect of the building was F. Schmidt, who designed it for the oldest company in the country, Krabbenhöft & Lampe , and its founders Friedrich Wilhelm Krabbenhöft and Oskar Lampe .
In 1913 an extension was added to the building.
