The Krångede power plant is a run-of-river power plant in the province of Jämtlands län , Sweden , which dams the Indalsälven . The village of Hammarstrand is around 15 km downstream .

The power plant was built from 1931 to 1936. It went into operation in 1936. The power plant is majority owned by Fortum and is also operated by Fortum.

Barrier structure

The barrier structure consists of a concrete gravity dam . The weir system with the flood relief , consisting of four gates, is located in the middle.

The Krångede power station has six Francis turbines and an installed capacity of 248.4 MW . The average annual production is 1.6224 billion kWh . The drop height is 60 m.
