The power plant Ventanas ( Spanish Central Termoeléctrica Ventanas ) is a coal-fired plant in Chile , located in a bay near the town of Quintero , Region V is. The power plant is owned by Empresa Eléctrica Ventanas SA (EEV) and is also operated by EEV.
Data
With an installed capacity of currently 885 (or 875 or 884) MW , it is the most powerful coal-fired power plant in Chile. The annual production in 2001 was 554 million kWh and in 2009 it was 2.667 billion kWh.

The costs for Unit 4 were USD 550 million.
fuel
In addition to coal, Ventanas also uses petroleum coke as fuel . The coal is delivered to the pier right next to the power plant.
owner
The operator of the power plant, Empresa Eléctrica Ventanas SA (EEV) is a subsidiary of AES Gener SA ( AES ). In terms of installed capacity, AES is the second largest electricity producer in Chile after Empresa Nacional de Electricidad SA Chile (ENDESA).
