The KreHtiv Netzwerk Hannover e. V. (spelling: kre | ​​H | tiv) is a registered association based in Hanover , which represents the interests of all actors in the cultural and creative industries in the Hanover region in order to positively influence the framework conditions for the entire industry and its competitiveness. The association was founded on March 24, 2011 as part of a project by the hannoverimpuls business development agency and, with over 350 members, is the largest cultural and creative industry network in Germany.

The association is located in the Halle 96 start-up center for companies in the creative industries operated by hannoverimpuls on the old Hanomag site in the Linden-Süd district.

history

The association emerged from a cluster initiative by hannoverimpuls , the joint business development company of the city and region of Hanover. The initiative to strengthen the cultural and creative industries was funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Fields of action

The cultural and creative industries in the Hanover region are an important economic factor with annual sales of € 2.4 billion and growth of 3.8%. Around 19,500 people are employed here, divided into 4,100 companies and sole proprietorships. In a nationwide comparison, their share in the total economic output (gross value added) is comparable to the major industrial sectors of the automobile, mechanical engineering, chemistry, or the financial services industry and energy supply. According to the EU definition, the industry is divided into the following 11 sub-segments: software & games, book market, press, music, broadcasting, film, architecture, performing arts, art, advertising, design. The largest employers in these sub-sectors in the Hanover region are primarily the software and games industry (approx. 4,100 employees), the music industry (3,550) and the press and advertising market (3,000 and 2,800 respectively). Compared to the overall German cultural and creative industries, the music industry, the design industry, the architecture market and the market for the performing arts are particularly well represented and have particularly strong growth.

Activities (selection)

The KreHtiv Netzwerk Hannover organizes around 50 events a year, in which up to 10,000 people take part each year. The various activities of the network are based on three focal points: industry-internal, sub-segment and cross-industry networking, promotion of actors from the cultural and creative industries and the initiation of projects to make the industry visible.

  • Hanover has been a UNESCO City of Music since 2014 . The application for this title goes back to an initiative of the KreHtiv Network Hanover , which was supported by numerous players in the music industry.
  • Well- known and unknown Hanoverians tell the story of their first record on the portal “My first record”, initiated by the KreHtiv Network Hanover .
  • In the “Hanno Lab”, a joint project with the University of Hanover and the Entrepreneurship Center Nexster , the participants develop innovative solutions to questions of the future using the design thinking method. Students, creative people and industry experts work together in interdisciplinary teams.
  • In order to support and accompany Hanover in digitization, the “Digitales Hannover e. V. “- this was also created through an initiative of the KreHtiv Network Hanover .
  • The "Freaky Fashion Festival", which has been held annually since 2015, is a platform for (young) designers from all Hanoverian fashion schools. The mixture of designer market, fashion show and festival, which is organized and staged together with the (young) fashion scene, has developed into a highly regarded presentation platform for creations.
  • The "Ideas Boulevard" is organized by KreHtiv Netzwerk Hannover in cooperation with Hannover Veranstaltungs GmbH and Digitales Hannover e. V. organized as part of the Maschsee Festival. It combines exhibitions, workshops, lectures, conferences and network meetings and offers a stage for the digital and creative ideas of the Hanover region.
  • The "Drei | V creative competition" is aimed at creative founders and helps them to build their own company. To this end, the awardees have access to a one-year mentoring program made up of industry and start-up experts, qualification workshops and prize money for their own marketing activities. In 2015 the competition was also carried out in cooperation with Braunschweig and Wolfsburg .
  • Under the heading "City Sculpture", a joint effort by Hanover's creatives, the most beautiful motifs of the Hanover region are repeatedly and individually reassembled as sculpture parts. City sculptures now exist in a noble version as an official guest gift from the city of Hanover and can be found in many offices of prominent Hanover visitors from politics, culture and science, etc. a. with Barack Obama , Narendra Modi , Prince Andrew , Bernhard Paul .
  • The KreHtiv Netzwerk Hannover is actively trying to secure the EDC / Emil-Berliner collection, which, in addition to many devices such as polyphones , gramophones , groove tester and picture CD players, also includes rarities and curiosities such as Emil Berlin's original files and Kelly's notes Family , gold records from ABBA or photos by Roy Black during the factory tour.

Awards

In 2015 the program “#creativecoder {”, a nationwide trainee program for creative programmers, initiated by the KreHtiv Network Hanover , was chosen as the winner in the nationwide innovation competition “Excellent locations in the land of ideas ”.

On December 3, 2018, the City Culture Prize of the Friends of Hanover was awarded to the KreHtiv Network Hanover .
