Creative Cities Network
The Creative Cities Network ( UCCN ) is a UNESCO project . It aims to celebrate and maintain cultural diversity. To this end, the member cities share their experiences in maintaining local cultural heritage and discuss plans for how they can cope with globalization .
Intention and function
The network aims to strengthen the cultural identity of the member cities, regardless of the growing trend towards internationalism.
The aim of the UNESCO program is to unite public and private partners and societies and to promote the creative economy . The international exchange should be improved and new collaborations developed. Cities that meet various criteria from the field of film and cinema can apply for this award.
The project aims to highlight a prominent aspect of the culture of these cities and finds ways in which the relevance of this cultural asset in city life, in the local economy and in social development can be increased.
