The Tolna District (Hungarian Tolnai járás ) is a district in the east of Tolna County in southern Hungary . It borders on Paks County to the north and Szekszárd County to the west and south . In the east, the Kalocsa district ( Bács-Kiskun county ) forms the border.

history

The district was newly formed in the course of the Hungarian administrative reform at the beginning of 2013 from the small area Szekszárd (Hungarian Szekszárdi kistérség ).

The county Tolna has an average size of the community of 4,469 inhabitants in an area of 51.31 square kilometers. The population density of the smallest and least populous district is the highest in the county after Szekszárd . The district seat is in the only town, Tolna , in the east of the district.
