The district office in Siegburg is the seat of the district administration of the North Rhine-Westphalian Rhein-Sieg district . The building was constructed in two phases from 1974 to 1981.

location

The district building is located at the entrance to the city on the north side of Kaiser-Wilhelm-Platz (house number 1), the intersection of Mühlenstrasse and Wilhelmstrasse. To the north is the Siegburger Mühlengraben , over which pedestrian bridges lead.

After the expansion of the Siegkreis to include the Bonn district to the Rhein-Sieg district as part of the municipal reorganization of the Bonn area on August 1, 1969, planning began for the construction of a new district building on the site of the previous district office or district building . The Bonn architect Ernst van Dorp was commissioned to design the new building in 1973 at the latest . After demolition of the existing county building in 1974 began the construction, adjacent to the previously five floors in bricks built health department , together with the planned also by van Dorp parking garage hills emerged. In 1978, the first, in 1981 the second construction phase at a total cost of 94 million was Deutschmark completed. From the 1970s until 1988, the Rhein-Sieg district gradually acquired the houses and land on Mühlenstrasse between Kreishaus and Mühlengraben and some of them were used as additional office space. The district building is a building complex staggered in height , which has up to twelve floors in its center and is oriented in the lower tracts to the surrounding buildings.
