The Kreissparkasse Bautzen ( Upper Sorbian Wokrjesna nalutowarnja Budyšin ) is a public-law savings bank based in the Saxon city of Bautzen . It is registered at the Dresden District Court under the registration number HRA no. 3877. It is a member of the East German Savings Banks Association and through this the German Savings Banks and Giro Association. The Kreissparkasse Bautzen is an institution under public law . It is run by the Bautzen district .

history
On December 18, 1832, the businessman Gustav Eduard Heydemann founded the “Sparkassen- und Leihanstalt Bautzen” at Kesselstrasse 5. In 1850, a savings bank regulation was issued that established the public mandate of the savings banks that is still in place today . In the following years the savings increased steadily, as early as 1870 a balance of 6 million marks was administered on 19,372 savings books. As with all banking houses, growth came to a virtual standstill during the inflationary period (1919–1923). The population's economy had to be redeveloped due to high advertising expenditure. In 1931 the move to the new part of the joint savings bank and museum building at Kornmarkt 1 followed.
