Way of the Cross to the Bergkirche (Laudenbach)
The way of the cross to the mountain church in Laudenbach , a district of Weikersheim in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg , is located on the outskirts and leads up to the mountain church Laudenbach . The Freilandkreuzweg is a listed building .
history
The approval to set up Stations of the Cross along the mountain relay with 255 steps on manorial land was granted to the Catholic Church in 1878. Thereupon “14 good relief pictures made of paper mache , made at Dijon in France” were placed on the relay. At the height of the fifth station there is also a wayside shrine from 1609, the inscription of which indicates that the Würzburg Vogt Valentin Gering had the staff attached and set up the wayside shrine, and asks for prayer for Gering.
