Way of the Cross Hundheim (Külsheim)
The way of the cross near Hundheim , a district of Külsheim in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg , begins in a depression between the districts of Hundheim and Steinbach on a local connection route to Külsheim and leads from the depression through the forest to the forest chapel (also called the birch chapel ). The fourteen stations of the cross each have simple reliefs. There is a cross and a Roman numeral on each of the bases. The exact author is not known. The Hundheimer Freilandkreuzweg is a listed building .
Stations of the Cross
The Hundheimer Kreuzweg comprises 14 stations of the cross, each of which has only one Roman numeral as an inscription (in brackets a description of the artistic representation of the station reliefs):
I (Jesus is sentenced to death)
II (Jesus takes up the cross)
III (Jesus falls under the cross for the first time)
IV (Jesus meets his mother)
V ( Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus carry the cross)
VI (Veronica hands Jesus the handkerchief)
VII (Jesus falls under the cross for the second time)
VIII (Jesus speaks to the women of Jerusalem)
IX (Jesus falls the third time under the cross)
X (Jesus is stripped of his clothes)
XI (Jesus is nailed to the cross)
XII (Jesus dies on the cross)
XIII (Jesus is taken down from the cross)
XIV (Jesus is laid in the grave)
