The way of the cross to the pilgrimage chapel Liebfrauenbrunn near Werbach in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg is located on the Welzbachtalradweg between the municipality of Werbach and its district of Werbachhausen . The exact author is not known. The stations of the cross were cast by a company from the Würzburg area, which also cast the stations of the Schweinberger Kreuzweg (in the Neckar-Odenwald district) and the stations of the nearby Impfinger Kreuzweg .
Way of the Cross
The Way of the Cross in front of the Liebfrauenbrunnkapelle includes the following 14 stations:
I. Jesus is sentenced to death
II. Jesus takes the cross on his shoulders
III. Jesus falls for the first time
IV. Jesus meets his St. mother
V. Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus carry the cross
VI. Veronica gives Jesus the handkerchief
VII. Jesus falls the second time
VIII. Jesus comforts the weeping women
IX. Jesus falls the third time
X. Jesus is stripped of his clothes
XI. Jesus is pinned to the cross
XII. Jesus dies on the cross
XIII. The body of Jesus is removed from the cross
XIV. Jesus is placed in the tomb
Monument protection
The Freilandkreuzweg is a cultural monument of the municipality of Werbach. Together with the Liebfrauenbrunn chapel and another wayside shrine, it forms a factual entity in the Baden-Württemberg monuments book.
