From 1873 to 1901 there is evidence of a color stamp of the same representation with the inscription "GEMEINDE WERBACHHAUSEN". On August 9, 1901, the municipal council adopted today's coat of arms on the proposal of the General State Archives. The Mainz wheel symbolizes that the community belongs to the Archdiocese of Mainz, the rust refers to Laurentius, the patron saint of the parish church.
