St. Laurentius Church

The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Laurentius in Werbachhausen , a district of Werbach in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg , was built in 1716 and expanded in 1893.

history

The Laurentiuskirche was built in 1716 and expanded in 1893. The church choir of Werbachhausen was founded in 1956 and celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2016. The Catholic rural youth movement Werbachhausen supports church youth work.

The Laurentiuskirche belongs to the pastoral care unit Großrinderfeld-Werbach, which is assigned to the deanery Tauberbischofsheim of the Archdiocese of Freiburg .

The Laurentiuskirche was repainted and renovated in 2015.

The main altar, decorated with rich gold jewelry with the image of the “Good Shepherd” and the side altars with the statues of St. Lawrence of Rome and the Virgin Mary, captivate the visitor in a special way.

The church is located at Leidenweg 1 and is a listed building . It is a baroque hall with a retracted polygonal choir and roof turrets. There is a high lining wall around the church. The buildings are marked with the years 1716 and 1731.

Near the church, there are other small monuments on Leidenweg , including a Marie Grotto and shrines and medieval penitential cross behind the church.
