Kribbelköpp

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kribbelköpp were a Bonn dialect band. The five-piece band consisted of the members Björn Dittrich (guitar), Christoph Janas (bass), Roman Gawellek (keyboard), Torben Palm (vocals), and Christian Post (drums).

history

The group emerged in 1996 through the founding members Torben Palm and Christian Post, who played in the first formation with Jan Armster (keyboard) and Thomas Grigoleit (bass) until 1999. With this formation the first album "janz anders" was released in 1998. In 1999, when Armster and Grigoleit changed their jobs, the formation today came together, in which the first concerts in and around Cologne were played.

In the following years the band was found on numerous appearances of all kinds. After the engagement of the first manager Thomas Kleinram and later Marcus Berger from Kick , the first major appearances followed at home and abroad. The five musicians were booked for a first concert in Sardinia and city dean Wilfried Schumacher from Bonn Minster committed the band to their biggest performance so far at the XX. Christian World Youth Day in Bonn in front of around 130,000 people.

Another change in management followed. Christian Post took over the management of the musicians from then on. In the next few months the Kribbelköpp received their first record deal with Coconut Records and released two more albums, "Hück Naach" and "Tiritomba", before the small label closed its doors.
Since the release of “Tiritomba” with the single “Unse Hergodd em Himmel muss ene Kölsche sin”, the Kribbelköpp have been a fixture in the carnival business and one of the few groups that not only commented on carnival, but also wrote songs and demonstrated musicality which also attracted audiences to the concert halls during the year.

In 2006 the last album so far, "2412", was released, a Christmas CD.

In 2007 the band surprised for the first time with a political statement against companies that dismiss employees without authorization. For this purpose, the "naked man" was created, who accompanied the band in the session and underlined the band's statement almost undressed. After that, the group was represented for the first time in the street carnival on all major stages such as the Altermarkt , the Neumarkt , the Neven DuMont tent and the Radio Cologne stage.

In addition to the carnival, the band became socially active and in 2007 gave a solidarity concert in the Siegburg prison after an inmate had previously been cruelly murdered by fellow inmates.

The year 2007 ended again with a Christmas concert in Bonn's cathedral basilica in front of a sold-out house and an impressive backdrop, before the new songs "Loß di Hätz nit breakche" and "Schwanztango" were published in 2008 and presented at the carnival.

During the year the musicians of the Kribbelköpp played occasional concerts. At the same time, new songs were worked out and a CD with 106 musicians from the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn was recorded in the House of Springmaus in Bonn and the surrounding studios.

After the CD was released, the conductor of the Beethoven Orchestra, Stefan Blunier , asked the band about a joint appearance. This took place with five songs together at a concert in the Beethovenhalle in Bonn in February 2009 in front of a sold out house.

In August 2010 the Kribbelköpp announced the end of their band. This was justified with a lack of perspective. After 14 years of successful work, you only indulge in memories, but have little prospect of what has always been strived for: to finally become "immortal" with a carnival hit.

After the dissolution

Torben Palm released his first solo single in 2010 - Dat Föttche . Since February 2013 he has been part of the hit duo Die Herzdiamanten .

Björn Dittrich, Christian Post and Roman Gawellek founded the band Astrhein - also in 2010 .
