Plotha war memorial

The Plotha war memorial is a listed war memorial in the village of Plotha in the Prittitz district of the city of Teuchern in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the memorial is listed as a monument under registration number 094 12209 .

The war memorial in Plotha consists of three individual memorials for the fallen of Plotha and Plennschütz .

For one, a stele of sandstone , to the fallen of the French German War . The stele is crowned by a ball on which an eagle once sat. The front is decorated with an eagle sitting on a cannon barrel . On the pedestal , two swords pointing diagonally downwards, crossing each other, can be seen . These are surrounded by a laurel wreath. There is an inscription on each side of the stele. The inscription on the front reads SOLI DEO GLORIA and that on the back In memory of the peace festival on June 18, 1871 . The left side contains the inscription In the glorious wars 1870 - 1871 fell as victims of this church trip for king and fatherland as well as the names of the fallen and the right side dedicated out of gratitude by the parishes Plotha and Plennschütz .

Behind the stele is a wall with two large stone plaques . This is the memorial for the fallen of the First World War . The plaques contain the names of the fallen and the inscription THE FALLEN HEROES THE COMMUNITIES OF PLOTHA AND PLENNSCHÜTZ .

The memorial to the fallen in World War II is to the side of the other two. It consists of a twisted semi-arch. The inscription GUIDED SEDUED INTO DEATH DRIVEN THE VICTIMS OF THE WAR 1939-1945 is engraved on the left side and AUS PLOTHA AUS PLENNSCHÜTZ and the names of the fallen are engraved on the right.
