Kristina Kristiansen (born July 13, 1989 in Høje-Taastrup , Denmark ) is a Danish handball player who plays for the Danish first division club Nykøbing Falster Håndboldklub .

Career

Kristiansen started playing handball at Roar Roskilde when she was five. In 2007, the back court player moved to Team Tvis Holstebro . With Holstebro she rose to the highest Danish league in 2009 and was named Årets Spiller i 1st division in the promotion season . In 2011 she was with TTH in the final of the EHF Cup , which was lost to league rivals FC Midtjylland Håndbold . In 2013 Kristiansen was again in the EHF Cup final and this time successfully prevailed against the French team Metz Handball . In the second final game she scored the most goals for Holstebro with twelve goals. In 2015 she won the EHF Cup again. She has been under contract with Nykøbing Falster Håndboldklub since the 2015/16 season . With Nykøbing Falster she won the Danish Championship in 2017 and the Danish Cup in 2018.

Kristiansen has played 155 caps for Denmark so far , in which she scored 378 goals. With the Danish selection, she took part in the 2009 , 2011 and 2013 World Championships . Kristiansen won the bronze medal at the 2013 World Cup and scored 45 goals in nine games. At the 2014 European Championship , she was elected to the tournament's all-star team. She also took part in the 2015 World Cup and the 2016 European Championship .

Kristiansen was previously a member of the youth and junior national team. She won the World Youth Championship in 2006, the European Junior Championship in 2007 and was runner-up in the Junior World Championship in 2008.

Private

Kristiansen had aged 18 years her coming-out . She was in a relationship with the Danish handball player Mette Gravholt .
