Krka dd is a globally represented Slovenian pharmaceutical company with headquarters in Novo mesto and production sites in Slovenia, Germany, Croatia, Austria, Poland and Russia.

history

Krka dd, named after the Slovenian river Krka , was founded on April 23, 1954 in Novo mesto. The Krka dd share has been traded on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange since February 10, 1997 . The company is also listed in the CEETX . In 2007 the company bought TAD Pharma GmbH, Cuxhaven, one of the largest German manufacturers of generics , from the PHW Group for 97 million euros . In 2008, Krka took over Alternova Arzneimittel from the Danish Paranova Group for 1.3 million euros GmbH, Vienna. Today the company delivers its products to more than 70 countries. For the German market, the company mainly produces generics with the special feature that the drugs are sold under their own brand names and the company has its own sales force. Furthermore, it invests an above-average amount of capital in research and development. The main part concerns cardiovascular drugs, another focus is pain medication and drugs that act on the central nervous system. The company has also been active in oncology for several years. In 2014–2015 new production facilities were built at the company's headquarters.
