Kruder & Dorfmeister (also shortened to K&D ) is an Austrian DJ and producer duo, consisting of the Viennese musicians Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister .

Career

Kruder & Dorfmeister were among the most famous Austrian musicians. The duo's music was also successful outside of Europe . The style ranges from downtempo and dub to electronica and trip-hop . K&D have released numerous remixes , including for Madonna , Depeche Mode , the Trüby Trio , Lamb and Roni Size . K&D together founded the record label G-Stone Recordings , through which they publish their music. In 1998 the K&D album The K&D Sessions was released on G-Stone , released as a double CD and as a quadruple LP. The rare vinyl edition became a sought-after record among enthusiasts.

Later, Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister often went their separate ways artistically and were also involved with their solo projects Peace Orchestra (Peter Kruder solo project) and Voom: Voom (Peter Kruder with Fauna Flash ) as well as Tosca (Richard Dorfmeister with Rupert Huber ) and Richard Dorfmeister con Madrid de los Austrias successful.

In November 2007 the Finnish company Nokia presented its new mobile phone models 8800 Arte and Sapphire . The two Austrians composed a soundtrack for this, and a corresponding video was designed by Fritz Fitzke . In 2010, on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of their G-Stone Recordings label, K&D were on tour with a two-hour concert set, and in February 2011 they performed at the Vienna Burgtheater .

In 2020, High Noon was voted 7th of the “100 most important Austrian pop songs” by the pop culture magazine The Gap in the AustroTOP ranking.
