The Lords of Krummendiek are a Holstein and Danish noble family from Krummendiek in the Elbmarschen . They were among the Equites Originarii in the Schleswig-Holstein knighthood.

history

The name Busch can be found as early as 1208. This family, which has been represented in large numbers since the 14th century, was originally called Busche , but later adopted the name of their ancestral seat Gut Krummendiek in the municipality of the same name Krummendiek near Itzehoe .

At Krummendiek there was a castle in 1247 that belonged to the sovereign. Their Castellan , Hartwig Busch is, with her fief been and have the name of the bush of Krummendiek accepted. Later, the large increase in the family with the same baptismal name led to the differentiation of the individual surnames; so z. B. Ywanus, alias dictus Stauerby , Witte Ywan , Grote Johan , Borchardus Stiper , Johan Wittecop , Ywan Engel and others. The next documented record, called Crummendik , was Iwan , who served the city of Lübeck in 1300.

According to the Danish nobility lexicon, the male line of Krummendik died out in 1598 with Hinrich Krummendiek on Beke. Individual members of the family were in respected positions in the service of the kings of Denmark in the Oldenburg house, such as the knight Hartwich Krummedike in 1455 as Norwegian imperial council and Henrik Krummedike in 1524 in the council of King Frederick I of Denmark.

On the older name Busch , the main seal picture a bush indicated. The family coat of arms shows a green bush in silver with a three-part root and five branches, each with three heart-shaped leaves.

Derived coat of arms

The Krummendiek coat of arms has also been integrated into the local coat of arms of Ottenbüttel .
