Krzysztof Klimek

Krzysztof Piotr Klimek (born July 14, 1962 in Warsaw , Poland) is a Polish officer with the rank of Brigadier General ( BOR ).

Life

He graduated from the Higher Police School (Wyższa Szkoła Policji) in Szczytno in 1997 with an officer's license. He then studied at the University of Computer Science, Management and Administration (Wyższa Szkoła Informatyki, Zarządzania i Administracji) in Warsaw and graduated in 2008 with a master's degree . He has been working in personal protection at the Government Protection Office ( Biuro Ochrony Rządu ) since 1985 . From 2001 he was the commander in the department for protection of the respective Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland and from 2007 head of the department for protection measures. He was also responsible for protective measures at the Polish embassies in Baghdad and Kabul .

For his work and services in the organization, management and administration of government protection, Klimek received the Bronze Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland in 1997 and the Silver Cross of Merit in 2003.

From 2008 to January 2013 he was the head of a unit that was responsible for protecting the Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk . At the end of January 2013 he became deputy head of the BOR and was responsible for protecting the Polish state government. After Dimission the superior Division General Marian Janicki he took over the area as acting boss and on 22 March 2013, he was appointed Chief of the Government Protection Bureau (BOR).

On June 12, 2014 Krzysztof Klimek was promoted to Brigadier General (BOR) by the President of the Republic of Poland Bronisław Komorowski . He has been retired since December 4th, 2015.
