Map from 1746 with the Kuhberg (Kühberg)

The Kuhberg is a 433.6 meter high mountain in the Lusatian Mountains northwest of Dürrhennersdorf in the southern district of Görlitz .

The Kuhberg towers over the south and south-west adjoining Muldental of the Schönbacher water (Schönbacher Dorfbach) with the Schewitz ponds with about 80 meters. As with the Hutberg and the Steinklunsen , the Kuhberg has a distinctive staircase on the southern slope. On the other hand, there are no cliffs on the Kuhberg, in contrast to the Steinklunsen, which reach almost the same height at 437 meters. Several granodiorite blocks , which can be found distributed on the Kuhberg slopes, were piled up to form a stone ridge along the former border between the Dürrhennersdorfer Bauernwald and the Löbauer Stadtwald. In the forest area of the Kuhberg, especially the former city forest, there is spruce forest , which is partly mixed with larches and pines . The former farmers' forests on the Kuhberg, on the other hand, consist of mixed deciduous forest with a thick layer of shrubbery. The weathering material of the granodiorite shows its traces in almost all parts of the slope in the ground. In addition to the distributed granodiorite blocks in the slope areas, there is primarily deeply decomposed, buried rock material. Brown earths with different degrees of podsolization have formed on it .
