Cow dung bingo
Cow dung bingo or cow dung lotto is a game of chance that is similar to roulette . A meadow is divided into fields, either by means of markings or only virtually. The game participants place bets as to which field a grazing cow will drop its " cow dung " into. The game is said to be based on an old pastime of farm boys and often takes place in rural areas as part of fair events.
The film Schotter wie Heu about life in the small Baden-Württemberg village of Gammesfeld ( Schwäbisch Hall district ), which was released in German cinemas in 2003, documents, among other things, the implementation of a cow dung bingo .
In the Swiss town of Lenk im Simmental there is a cow patty lottery with two cows and a field divided into 400 numbered squares at the end of each year .
In addition, since 2005 the cow patty bingo has always been held in Ruswil on the first full moon in spring. In 2012 it was also offered at the Kirchhellen -tag and in Eckerde .
In 2007, a commercial for the Swedish furniture store Ikea featured cow dung bingo as a pastime.
In the USA there is a similar game known as "Chicken Shit Bingo" (chicken shit bingo). The rules are identical to those of cow dung bingo, but the " playing field " is usually inside a chicken cage and the protagonist of the game is a chicken . Due to the smaller size of the playing field, it is also possible to play inside buildings.
